Region Bretagne

About us

Welcome to the Fondation du Patrimoine's site for Brittany.

Bezit deuet-mat war lec'hienn Diazezadur ar Glad Rannvro Breizh...

The regional branch in Brittany was officially created in 2000; just 4 years after the Fondation reached national status in 1996. Still, our regional branch had to wait a few years (until 2002/3) before it really took off, and has since been stoically committed to supporting public and private maintenance and restoration of built heritage in Brittany. After a few changes of address, our regional headquarters are currently situated at the Fédération Régionale du Bâtiment at Rennes.

Our team

Like the national organisation, our regional branch of the Fondation du Patrimone is based on a network of volunteers.

A network of around 30 representatives from all over Brittany means that we can limit running costs in order to donate as much of our finances as possible to Brittany's heritage. It also means that our presence is spread far and wide, closer to public and private project sponsors.

In this way, our team is growing in strength by the day, giving you more support in your restoration projects. Today our team is made up of a few dozen ‘pays' (area) representatives and 6 département representatives.

Monsieur Jean-François Le Besque, Regional Representative of the Fondation du Patrimoine for Brittany, organises and leads the branch. Administrative and financial management, along with the centralisation of public and private projects, is taken care of on a regional level by Roman Girard, Project Manager and the only salaried employee at the Fondation's branch in Brittany.
